Absolutely. We exclusively select edible, gourmet mushroom varieties (like Oyster mushrooms) that are 100% safe for classroom observation and handling.

No. The mushrooms are harvested just as they mature, they are picked long before they release significant amounts of spores. The kit is entirely safe for indoor classroom environments.

They require less than five minutes of care a day! Students simply mist the kit with water 2-5 times a day. Sometimes a 12-24 hours soaking is needed after a harvest for a new flush. Students are encouraged to take-home the mushrooms for the weekend (more parents are excited by this fun new pet than you may think)!

They are incredibly fast! Once you open the kit, you will notice mushrooms within 2 weeks. From there, the mushrooms double in size every 24 hours, giving your students a spectacular daily science show.
