Grow Mushrooms in Your Classroom

Engage young minds with a living science project + tasty harvests, no outdoor garden required.

In this workshop, our mushroom educator brings the wonder of fungi into your classroom and guides you and your students through the mushroom cultivation process from set-up to maintenance to harvest so your class can grow a healthy, edible crop in 1-2 weeks!

We provide 1-2 classroom visits that focus on edible vs. non-edible mushrooms, introduction to the Fungi Kingdom, setting-up the grow kit, caring for the mycelium and mushrooms, when to harvest the mushrooms, and how to eat the mushrooms! 🍳

The workshop is designed especially for elementary students in the following regions:

  • Kitchener/Waterloo

  • Cambridge

  • Guelph

  • Email us to learn whether small towns surrounding these cities are available for this workshop.
